It just seemed that the writers took a bit more effort to flesh him out as a character than they did the other ten Devas. Howler, Pound Puppies: I'm not sure what it is exactly, but something about this piano-playing, curly-haired dog with the stutter and bowler hat with the mechanical hand appealed to me when I caught a rerun of Pound Puppies on CN one day and I've loved him ever since. As for Sphinxy, I thought having a sphinx character in Tiny Toons was cool. He tries so hard to catch Little Beeper, and add to the fact that he's occasionally the target of Fifi LaFume's affections that you just have to feel sorry for him. Coyote was never one of my favorite Looney Tunes characters, but for some reason I absolutely adore his protege Calamity. But he realizes that his particular talents are valuable and that he should be proud of them.Ĭalamity Coyote and Sphinxy, Tiny Toon Adventures: I decided to put these two together because 1)Sphinxy got less screen time than Calamity did and 2)I think Calamity and Sphinxy would make a really cute couple.
But Gyro has feelings and his own dreams, as was proven in my favorite Ducktales episode "Sir Gyro de Gearloose." In it Gyro, sick of being taken advantage of as a repairman ("gadget man"), goes back in time to the time of Quack-a-lot to become a knight. Gyro is perfectly content to sit in his workshop all day and invent devices to make life better for the citizens of Duckberg, even though they may seem outlandish or else don't work properly. Gyro Gearloose, Ducktales: I kind of think of Gyro as Duckberg's version of Doc Brown from Back to the Future. His friendship with Breetai is one of the truly unique ones in anime, as for a majority of the series Zentraedi have no concept of things such as love, friendship or any relationship beyond that of commanding officer-subordinate. But despite that Exedore is still highly respected by nearly all of the Zentraedi (Khyron being the exception, but then he doesn't have respect for anyone). He's much shorter, and he doesn't go into battle because he was born/created with some deformities (among them a hunched back, according to the novels). I know that part of it is the fact that Exedore isn't like all the other Zentraedi. So I thought I'd post the question of which "overlooked and unappreciated" characters everyone here likes? Not ones that are hated just the ones that aren't generally supported by the majority of the fandom.Įxedore Formo, Robotech: Honestly I have no idea what it is that made me a fan of this character. Everyone here talks about which characters they support that other people hate, and we've had discussions about which characters we're not particularly fond of or are just neutral to.
